Even though her childhood was shitty, she could hold her own with Ben, both in the past & presently. The banter between Ben and Mak was snarky and witty and always entertaining. I felt like I knew them by the end of this book. What started out as funny and seemingly harmless, turned out to be quite a serious and heartfelt story and showed all sides of both Mak(ayla) and Ben. But they were young, sassy teenagers who’d sling verbal insults at each other every chance they could. And he IS Ben.īen & Makayla have a history. I thoroughly enjoyed this enemies to lovers story!Īnd can we all take a moment to appreciate that cover? Seriously perfect. I need to stop looking at him the way he’s looking at me.īut everything will go up in flames once he finds out who I am. And still has a way of lighting a fire inside me. When the one person I’ve spent my entire life hating walks back into my life, it finally pushes me over the edge. And now, I’m being forced to move back home, a place I swore I would never return to.
